Our Services

What a standard day looks like at Crazy Cats Cattery

Our guests are tended to twice daily with cuddles/play time in between. Our morning routine usually starts around 7:00am.

Each suite is thoroughly cleaned, litter trays cleaned and replenished, fresh water and breakfast provided, this could be dry food or if preferred, wet food, cat milk is also available upon request.

Your cat’s suite will become his/her new territory during their stay, they will quickly settle into the routine, once they settle, they will be given the opportunity to venture into the exclusive play area if they choose to do so.

Your cat may also be given the opportunity to have a wander around the exclusive play area in the cattery whilst cleaning is in process. Throughout the day all our guests are provided with human company, we spend most of the day in the cattery catching up on those mundane jobs like accounts and paperwork so always like to have a break and spend some playtime with our guests.

In the afternoon litter trays are again cleaned and prepared for overnight. The evening meals are served with a top up of water and extra dry food. All guests are secured inside overnight.

In between our morning and afternoon opening hours our guests may enjoy some time playing on the large exercise wheel or giant scratching tower in the exclusive play area. This is done on a rotational basis.

FAQ’S

  • We will not hesitate to take your cat to our dedicated vet if we feel medical attention is required.  We will endeavour to contact you or an alternate contact on the numbers that you have provided to us to advise any concerns that we have and discuss the preferred course of action to be taken.

Should we be unable to contact you we will make the decision we feel is in the best interest of your cat.  Your cat will be taken to our dedicated vet or in some circumstances we may request to have the vet come to Crazy Cats Cattery to administer treatment.

As per our conditions of boarding, all vet bills are to be settled by the cat owners.

As the cat owner it is your responsibility to provide us with adequate contact details for either yourself or an alternate contact.  If you have a senior cat or have any health concerns and will not be easily contactable whilst you are away, it is a good idea to notify your vet that you will be away and advise any specific requests/costings for treatment.

  • No. We only house cats together if they are from the same family.  Our play sessions are either individual or family cat sessions.

  • We stock a selection of quality dry and wet foods, including Whiskas, Supercoat, Dine, Fancy Feast, Felix, Blackhawk, Optimum and Royal Canin dry food.

We do not offer veterinary or prescription diets or food. If required, they must be provided by you.

  • Yes. If your cat is on a special diet or you would just prefer to keep them on their usual food, you are most welcome to provide this to us.  Please ensure all foods are securely packaged and labelled.

Any food to be stored in the freezer should be minimally packaged as space is limited.  We would ask for freezer bagged or glad wrapped portions rather than containers.

There will be no discount offered if you do decide to provide your own food.

  • Dry cat food is made up of mostly dry matter like protein, carbohydrates, fats and vitamins and contains around only 10% water, whereas cat wet food contains a significantly higher water content.

Ensuring you’re meeting your cat’s nutrient needs is essential, as they tend to need more protein than dogs. That’s why cat food is generally higher in calories and contains greater proteins and fats levels. Unlike dogs, cats are obligate carnivores, meaning they must eat meat to survive. Meat-rich dry cat food is a great way of helping your cat maintain their overall health and wellbeing.

We also have a wide range of wet food such as Dine, Felix, Fancy Feast.  Generally, our guests are fed dry food in the morning which is replenished in the afternoon when a wet serve is also provided.  If this feeding schedule does not suit your cat, we will be more than happy to accommodate.

  • We provide everything necessary for your cat’s holiday with us however you are most welcome, and indeed encouraged to bring anything that may help your cat to feel more at home.

It is also a good idea to bring something that smells like you, such as a T-shirt or blanket. Please label any items you bring to Crazy Cats Cattery. You can also bring your cats brush, or we can simply use one of our own.

  • All cats must have completed a full vaccination course (Minimum F3) and hold a current vaccination certificate showing the last vaccination was given within the previous 12 months. Proof of current vaccination status is required upon admission for boarding.

For kittens, a full vaccination course consists of 3 injections usually a month apart, plus a 14-day period after the 3rd injection to achieve full immunity. Generally, kittens are at least 18 weeks old before they obtain a vaccination status sufficient that they may be accepted for boarding.

For adult cats where vaccination status has lapsed, your cat is then required to have

2 injections a month apart, plus a 14-day period after the 2nd injection to achieve full immunity before they can be accepted for boarding. Therefore, if your cat does not hold a current vaccination status a minimum 6-week period is required to complete a sufficient vaccination program.

    • Please flea treat your cat one week prior to check in. Cats found to be carrying fleas will have a flea treatment administered at a cost to you.

    • We recommend a worming treatment at least two weeks prior to their stay.

    • Cats over 6 months of age must be desexed.

    • Please label all medication with your cat’s name, dosage, time and administration instructions.

    • Cats must be transported to and from the cattery in a secure pet carrier which will remain with us for the duration of their stay.

We will accept cats up to 6 months of age that are not desexed.

  • Each of our guests are monitored daily during their stay with us and notes kept on their progress. The progress report can be provided upon request when you pick up your furry friend.

We also post regular pictures of our guests on Facebook/Instagram. Although we are unable to send personal updates out to you daily, we would be more than happy to respond to any phone calls, emails or Facebook messages to provide an update.

We always advise customers that we would rather that they contacted us for an update rather than worry whilst they are away from their pet.  Providing peace of mind to our customers is paramount to us so please don’t hesitate to contact us.
